The hottest and most collectable vehicles on the classic car scene will be converging on “Thunder Mountain” to showcase the history of Dodge, Chrysler, and Plymouth. The 22nd annual Mopar at Thunder Mountain returns to Bandimere Speedway on Sunday, May 31. At this ultimate event for the Mopar fan, participants can drag race in a variety of classes for all skill levels, display in the participant-judged show midway, or both.
The car show will feature everything from the rare and expensive HEMI-powered muscle cars of the 60’s and early 70’s to the late model vehicles that have become the signature for Chrysler. The show midway is filled with acres of polished iron looking for the “Best in Class” trophy, or simply to be recognized and appreciated as a piece of automotive history.
Additionally, there will be a swap meet with everything from that one rare piece needed to complete a project, to compete cars. The famous “burnout contest”, new product midway, and exhibition races complete the day.
Returning in 2009 will be the HEMI-powered and Survivor classes, plus Best SRT class.
Gates open at 8:00 am. Participants pay $30, with Spectators paying $14 at the gate. Children 12 & under are free with a paying adult. Discount coupons are available at participating Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep dealers along the Front Range.
